Raiders CB Nate Hobbs Continues To Be The Talk Of Camp

It’s been quite an offseason for Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Nate Hobbs. With training camp fully underway and an impressive Hall of Fame game under his belt, Hobbs continues to make waves by all accounts.

After emerging as one of the biggest surprises of the 2021 season, there was much regarding Hobbs’ future. He flourished as the Raiders’ nickel corner, surrendering just 51 completions all year. Coming into this year’s camp, it was assumed that Hobbs would continue in that role. However, the defense is now run by Patrick Graham. His system requires versatility from its players, and Hobbs is no exception.

Hobbs also impressed with some playing time during the preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was during that contest that fans got a sneak peek at Hobbs potentially playing on the outside. That’s something to keep an eye on as preseason continues this weekend.

On another note, Pro Football Focus looked at “risers and fallers” for each of the NFL’s training camps, with Clelin Ferrell being the latter. Hobbs has stood out, seeing his stock rise.

“Hobbs has been competitive against Davante Adams during Raiders camp, which is just about the best compliment you can give a cornerback.”

Raiders CB Nate Hobbs has been the star of training camp in Henderson

Those with boots on the ground in Henderson consistently rave about Hobbs. Guarding Davante Adams on a regular basis is doing wonders for the defensive back. Iron sharpens iron, and that saying is very true for the NFL. The team’s defensive backs/pass game coordinator, Jason Simmons, praised Hobbs’ ability to roam the field, making use of his versatility.

To say that Raiders CB Nate Hobbs has been the star of the Raiders’ camp is an understatement.
