Raiders’ Del Rio is happy for Lynch and his homecoming

This morning, Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio sat down and weighed in on the Raiders’ off-season acquisitions, most notably Oakland’s own, running back Marshawn Lynch, who returns home to the Bay Area so he can sail out into the sunset on a Silver and Black ship.  It’s a dream that Del Rio himself had and never got to realize.

“I told him, I said you’re lucky man. I didn’t get a chance to do that as a player. I wanted to finish here as a player too, but I didn’t get that chance and you’re going to get that chance.” Del Rio on Lynch fulfilling a dream he too, once had.

Just like Raider Nation, Del Rio is a fan of physical football and make no mistake, violence is what he craves in his running game.  With Kelechi Osemele, Rodney Hudson, and Gabe Jackson paving the way for Lynch’s preferred inside zone running, we are all looking forward to this season.
