The Oakland Raiders and their journey to the NFL playoffs will start with a trip thru Tennessee so how will the Raiders’ wide receivers do against the Titan’s corners?
As Raider Nation Looks ahead to the regular season in the Raiders’ game versus the Titans, the Silver and Black’s receiving corps will be facing no small task when they are covered by the likes of Logan Ryan and rookie Adoree Jackson.
As PFF pointed out a few days ago via Twitter, the Raiders’ offense will continue featuring one of the best duos in Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree, and in his defense, Seth Roberts is no slouch as a third option.

The Titans for their part will feature cornerback Logan Ryan who had a decent year with the New England Patriots last season as he totaled two interceptions and seven deflected passes. Brice McCain for his part is expected to handle nickel duties this season as Sam McGaw of PFF wrote back in May, and McCain also notched two interceptions last year.
However, let’s be honest here. The Raiders offensive juggernaut is expected to run thru pass defenses assuming Derek Carr is back to his old self and the “dynamic duo” pick up where they left off last season. Cooper’s total PFF rating of 82.2 and Crabtree’s 78.6 should have the Titans pass defense trembling; assuming both “Coop” and “King Crab” are ready to go by then.
As the preseason continues to develop it will be key to see how the chemistry picks back up between Carr and this impressive receiver group. Let’s say the group does not spend much time on the field together during the preseason; I will be hard pressed to believe they can just quickly “pick it up as it goes” when facing a Titans team just itching to ruin the return of Carr.
