Degeneration R: Picking the Week 4 Lines

Week 3 results:

Rory: 5-11

Chris: 6-10

Year to Date Totals after a brutal week 3:

Rory: 20-27-1

Chris: 17-30-1

Vikings @ Rams -7

Rory: I am so glad I took the Bills last week. Not sure what happened to the Vikings overall, but I expect them to turn out against the Rams who are also down two top corners. Even if Peters plays he will be dinged up so give me the Vikings.

Chris: The Vikings looked shaky against the Bills last week. They could bounce back, but I like the Rams at home to cover the spread.

Bills @ Packers -10

Rory: Them Bills came through big last week! With another big line this week and a still slightly dinged Rodgers, give me the Bills.

Chris: I loved what I saw in Josh Allen last week. Packers win the game but fail to cover the spread.

Dolphins @ Patriots -7

Rory: I do not trust Miami at all, but the Patriots are simply off. The defense that Miami put out there should do enough to keep it close so give me the Fish and the points.

Chris: The Patriots are desperate for a win and can’t let the Dolphins start off 4-0, I think New England wins BIG.

Lions @ Cowboys -3

Rory: After a bounce back performance and after a failure by the Cowboys last week this is a tough call. This should be a really fun game to watch and since its close I am rolling with the underdog….. Undercats. Lions

Chris: The Lions impressed on Sunday Night Football against the Patriots while the Cowboys have been somewhat of a disappointment. I’ll take the Lions.

Texans @ Colts -1.5

Rory: Winless Texans? A little weird so far with such a talented team. The Colts are very flawed and ultimately the Texans will get off the schnide this week.

Chris: The Texans will come back to life this week and beat the Colts.

Buccaneers @ Bears -3

Rory: Fitzpatrick dropping absolute bombs everywhere against the Steelers was insanely fun to watch. Also mildly nerve racking. Can they continue to roll with that explosive offensive in spite of Khalil Mack? I sure hope so Bucs

Chris: Can the Buccaneers offense sustain an elite level of production against the Bears stout defense? I’m going to say no. I’ll take the Bears here.

Eagles @ Titans +4

Rory: Even without receivers the Eagles still have the ability to put up points with Wentz behind center. The Titans have had an interesting start the the year but I cannot trust the outcomes. That said I like getting more than and field goal with the Titans.

Chris: The Titans defense has looked impressive but what the heck is going on with their offense!? Eagles win here in an easy one.

Bengals @ Falcons -5

Rory: With the Falcons going full Limpbizkit and rollin’ it is hard to go against them. But the Bengals are sneaky good and tend to keep it close.

Chris: The Falcons offense is rolling, but can the defense keep up too? I think we see another shootout here, but I like the Falcons to win by 7 and cover the spread.

Jets @ Jaguars -7.5

Rory: Betting on a rookie is always a scary proposition but the Titans shut down the Jaguar attack last week. Fournette can still come up lame before this one goes down and the Jets defense is just good enough to keep it interesting.

Chris: The Jaguars defense is the real freaking deal; they pounce the Jets at home.

Seahawks @ Cardinals +3

Rory: I cannot believe the Seahawks are only a 3 point favorite. They’re offense has been poor at times but not as poor as the Cardinals.

Chris: I think the quarterback switch in Arizona will help bolster the team to a strong finish over their division rival. Cardinals win by three.

Browns @ Raiders -3

Rory: Out of principle I have to pick the Raiders.

Chris: Would you look at that; the Raiders are favored by three. I think this game comes down to the wire and new kicker Matt McCrane knocks in a game-winning field goal to defeat the Browns.

Saints @ Giants +3.5

Rory: I am genuinely torn. It is the Saints outside against the Manning led Giants. This just hurts my brain. Ugh fine the Saints it is.

Chris: The Saints looked great last week, but the Giants got back to their winning ways. I think home field pays big dividends and the G-Men come through with the help from a big day by Saquan Barkley.

49ers @ Chargers -10.5

Rory: The boo-boo bug just hit the Niners in a bad way. No Jimmy G, no way they keep this remotely close. Chargers win big.

Chris: No more Jimmy-G in SF, yikes! The Chargers will walk all over the Niners.

Ravens @ Steelers -3

Rory: Pittsburgh invented new ways for me to not understand how their defense could not step up in any way as Tampa Bay closed in late last week. In this rivalry the Ravens getting points is the plucky play.

Chris: The Steelers secondary is not very good and that might be an understatement. Joe Flacco has a huge game and the Ravens will win this Sunday Night matchup.

Chiefs @ Broncos +5

Rory: At some point some team is going to do just enough to slow down the Chiefs and the Broncos are a good team to do it with their talented defensive ends. I don’t think the Broncos win, but 5 points at home is hard to pass up.

Chris: The Chiefs look unstoppable. I’m picking them every week until they show me otherwise.

Games we disagree: Min @ LAR, Mia @ NE, TB @ Chi, Phi @ Ten, Cin @ Atl, NYJ @ Jac, Sea @ AZ, No @ NYG, Den @ KC
