Going into last year’s draft, many people from fans to so-called experts had “their guy” pegged for the Raiders to select at the No. 10 pick. Of course, as we all know, the team traded back and selected UCLA left tackle, Kolton Miller. With Miller added in round one, once again many expected the Raiders to address other areas of need, however, in round three the team selected another offensive tackle in Brandon Parker from North Carolina A&T.
Each of these two had promising moments during their rookie seasons, but along with the good, came the bad. From inconsistent play to nagging injuries, could it be possible the Raiders add more beef to this offensive line in the 2019 NFL Draft? In case this is what Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden have in store, let’s take a look at some potential prospects.
Guys that could play both LT and RT:
Greg Little, Ole Miss, 6-foot-6, 325 pounds
Ranked the no. 1 offensive lineman out of high school, Little did not disappoint. He can play left or right tackle without a problem. Good feet and looked good in his game vs Alabama.
Andre Dillard, Washington State, 6-foot-5, 306 pounds
Dillard, a 3-year starter at LT for the Cougs, made himself stand out with an outstanding week in Mobile, Alabama for the Senior Bowl, though he did give up a sack during the game.
Yodny Cajuste, West Virginia, 6-foot-5, 308 pounds
Cajuste looks a lot like Greg Little. Just slightly less talented. Has sound technique during pass protection. Did suffer a season-ending knee injury in 2016 but didn’t appear to hinder him the last two seasons.
Guys that should play RT only:
Kaleb McGary, Washington, 6-foot-7, 318 pounds
This 3-year starter for the Huskies is more of a mauler. He is a bit heavy footed but has enough athleticism to find and hit moving targets. Did struggle a bit vs Auburn.
Max Scharping, Northern Illinois, 6-foot-6, 310 pounds
Scharping played both tackles spots and guard for the Huskies. Like Dillard, improved his stock during Senior Bowl week. Doesn’t appear to have the feet for the left side but is good enough to play right tackle.
