Raiders Depth Chart

1. Henry Ruggs III
2. Tyrell Williams
3. Hunter Renfrow
4. Bryan Edwards
5. Zay Jones
6. Rico Gafford, Specialist

Breakdown

12th overall pick Henry Ruggs III will be the best athlete on the team this year and should be relied upon heavily. Tyrell Williams should go into this season as the number two option. Battling plantar fasciitis last year gives him the benefit of the doubt for a disappointing performance. However, if he does not show improvement early this upcoming season, he could see his snaps decline quickly. Selecting Bryan Edwards in the third round coupled with the emergence of Hunter Renfrow should shorten Williams’ leash. Speaking of Renfrow, I expect him to emerge as one of the league’s top slot receivers this year.

Edwards should get the nod as the fourth receiver. Expect his reps to increase throughout the season as he gets more comfortable in the offense. Of any player on this roster, the South Carolina product might suffer the most from the unconventional offseason. That being said, I think this offseason gives Zay Jones an advantage. Carr and Jones have been throwing together during the pandemic, which will give him a leg up on the competition for the last true receiver spot on the roster. Rico Gafford also figures to make the team because of his ability to contribute on special teams.

The unusual nature of this offseason, coupled with his issues with drops, will keep Agholor off of the roster despite just being signed recently. Both Doss and Ateman should be easy to stash on the practice squad, however, Doss should get the nod if one of them is called up.

That’s it for the wideouts. Tune in next time to see how things will shake out with the tight ends.
