Nate Burleson: Raiders WR Henry Ruggs Will Score a 90+ Yard TD

Wide receiver Henry Ruggs III has the skill set to help the Las Vegas Raiders improve their scoring efficiency. One former NFL wide-out thinks that if they give him a chance, the Alabama product can be a deep threat.

Even though Ruggs haven’t stepped on an NFL football field, he’s already got endorsements from current and former players. First, it was Raiders teammate, quarterback Derek Carr. Then, it was former Pro Bowler Chad Johnson, and now, player-turned-analyst Nate Burleson joins the voices.

Good Morning Football host Key Adams asked Burleson who most definitely will have the most impact among rookies in 2020. The former Lions wide receiver didn’t hesitate when giving a response: Henry Ruggs III.

“I’m going to go with new Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III. If you think of the impact Tyreek Hill’s had for the Chiefs, he’s a special player. You can’t coach speed. In the six years Derek Carr has been in the league, he has 11 pases over 50+ yards for a TD. That’s pretty wild. He should double that with Tyrell Williams, Darren Waller and now Henry Ruggs. Here’s the thing, he had an 87-yard touchdown to Amari Cooper back when Cooper was still on the Raiders. I guarantee that Ruggs has a 90+ yards TD this season. I have Henry Ruggs making a big impact.”

Raiders: Burleson Knows A Good Receiver When He Sees Him

If someone knows about pass-catching prowess is Burleson. In his career, he had the chance to play with Randy Moss during his tenure with the Vikings and later, he played opposite of Calvin Johnson. Those two are arguably the two best wide receivers in the NFL in the last 20 years. There are plenty of fast wide receivers in the NFL, but only the gifted ones can make the most out of it at the NFL. The fact Burleson compared Ruggs to Hill speaks volumes about the Crimson Tide’s alumnus’ prowess.

Carr needed weapons, so the Raiders got him Ruggs. If the team gets over the top, it will be in part due to the rookie wide receiver’s impact. He hasn’t taken a snap yet, but he’s already getting rave reviews.
