Raiders Newest Stadium Will Incorporate High-End Technology

Las Vegas Raiders fans surely have good memories of the Oakland Coliseum. Although the site witnessed some heartbreaking moments, there was plenty of good. However, most will agree the place was archaic. There’s a reason the franchise looked for a newer place to play in. The new home of the Raiders, Allegiant Stadium, certainly has a different vibe going on when it comes to technology.

Nobody can take away things such as the Black Hole and the atmosphere, among other things, that transpired in Oakland. Nevertheless, the Raiders needed a new stadium. They just couldn’t live in the past celebrating all those victories the team partook in at the Coliseum. Las Vegas is about to inaugurate a new stadium in Sin City, and they will try to incorporate state-of-the-art technology.

One Raiders’ Partner Will Enhance In-Stadium Experience

In his latest article, Tashan Reed of the Athletic dwelled on the Raiders and their business partners, Shift4Payments. Reed talked to Michael Isaacman, chief commercial officer at Shift4Payments, which will be the Raiders main payment solutions provider at Allegiant Stadium. Isaacman says that their relationship evolved progressively. What started as an inquiry about a sponsorship turned into a full commercial relationship.

Raiders representatives asked whether Shift4 had interest in a sponsorship agreement. The company took it a step further and asked if they could become the Raiders’ primary payment solutions provider. Shift4 estimated that it powers the transactions for roughly half the businesses on the Las Vegas Strip including casinos, hotels and retail locations, which caught the Raiders’ interest.

How can a payment company improve the fan experience at a Stadium? Isaacman says Shift4Payments is working on making transactions touchless and easier for attendees. This will be key in the amid the current Covid-19 pandemic.

We don’t want fans to have to choose between going to the bathroom and getting a hot dog and a beer. The more of these seamless, touchless transactions that are available — and we’re making them available everywhere — everything’s going to go a lot quicker.

Reed mentions “every payment terminal at Allegiant Stadium will be outfitted with EMV readers that allow for contactless payments through near-field technology.” There are certain transactions that require the exchange of cash. However, most of the payments that go on at a stadium don’t require it. Especially nowadays, when there’s a sanitary crisis going on.

The Raiders Are Doing as Much as They Can in the Midst of Uncertainty

Regardless of whether or not fans are able to attend, Raiders brass is taking all possible measures in case they do. Whether it’s their health, their on-site experience, or just avoiding inconvenience, the organization is doing as much as possible to ensure their fans’ satisfaction.
