The Las Vegas Raiders lost to the Buffalo Bills today, bringing their record to 2-2. How much of that is Paul Guenther’s fault?
If you ask Raider Nation, it seems that Guenther should be fired outright. Here at the Raider Ramble, we posed the question via Twitter and they made their feelings known. The final score might not reflect it but the Silver and Black had their chances throughout this game. Unfortunately, key drops and fumbles cost the team vital opportunities.
As for the defense, it wasn’t a good display out there. Guenther’s unit seemed out of sorts from the game’s opening. At one point, you had linebacker Cory Littleton covering wide receiver Stefon Diggs, just one small example of overall confusion. As far as the fans are concerned, they seem to have had enough of Guenther’s sub-standard coaching.

Fans Believe Raiders and Guenther Should Part Ways
As you can imagine, the use of GIF’s by our readers is usually on point. Raider Nation did not disappoint, and they made it clear they want Guenther gone. As a follow up to that question, we did pose the concern of whether firing Guenther right now would actually fix anything.
At this point you need someone to come in and take reign and get the defensive players going. I don’t want to say this outright but this feels like there is a distinct lack of faith in guenther.

Our readers made some excellent points as always, this could still be very much a talent issue. If that’s the case, we can say the Raiders didn’t spend their money correctly because a lot of it was invested in the defense. The observations made on mismatches is concerning but as Twitter user @Rossi_b pointed out, the fundamentals don’t even seem to be in place.
Fans and writers can agree or disagree on Guenther all day, yet, the decision lies with head coach Jon Gruden. Has the Raiders’ shot-caller seen enough or will he let him finish the season before making such an important decision? We can only wait to see how this plays out.
