One of the most important games for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020 awaited at Arrowhead Stadium. Although the game balanced out in the first half and even in the third quarter, the Silver and Black had a fourth-quarter like no other.
The Raiders showed in the 1st half they could keep up with the Chiefs
The Chiefs held back no punches and tested the Raiders secondary almost right out of the gate. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes connected with wide receiver Tyreek Hill for a 58-yard touchdown. However, a holding penalty would negate it and the Chiefs ended up punting later in that drive. The Raiders then went on to show they could stretch the field when quarterback Derek Carr threw a 46-yard pass to wide receiver Henry Ruggs III. They settled for a field goal but showed they weren’t afraid to take shots downfield.
The Chiefs offense would later score twice and their defense intercepted Carr in a floated pass in between touchdowns. The Raiders would promptly respond with a 59-yard touchdown pass by wide receiver Nelson Agholor and reduce the lead. The Chiefs went on to score again on an eight-yard pass to wide receiver Sammy Watkins and Kansas City led again 21-10.
The Raiders didn’t want to stay behind on the scoreboard though. Carr found tight end Darren Waller to make the score 21-17. A 43-yard run by Devontae Booker was crucial in that drive. The offense didn’t stop there and Carr threw a 72-yard touchdown pass to Ruggs. The Chiefs had one more chance to score before halftime and didn’t put it to waste and kicked a field goal to tie the game 24-24.

Things took a surprising turn in the second half
In the third quarter, both teams slowed down and failed to score. Running back Josh Jacobs changed that at the beginning of the fourth quarter. He got in the end zone in a seven-yard run, giving the Raiders a 30-24 lead after Daniel Carlson missed the extra point. He would later make up for it and hit a 43-yard field goal.
The Chiefs seemed ready to tie the game but Mahomes threw a pass to the hands of Raiders safety Jeff Heath. He returned it all the way to Kansas City’s two-yard line. Jacobs punched in the ball for this second touchdown of the game. The Chiefs didn’t give up and scored again and converted the two-point conversion.
In the end, the Chiefs didn’t get another chance to mount a drive and the Raiders killed the clock, and just like that, Raider Nation, the Silver and Black won their first game at Arrowhead since 2012.
