Can Raiders Hope To Have This Injured Trio Back Soon?

The Las Vegas Raiders have been dealt a bad hand with injuries in 2020, and sometimes it seems like they just can’t a break. At some point, the Silver and Black hope to have back the trio of Damon Arnette, Maurice Hurst, and Trent Brown.

Injuries are part of the NFL, there’s no way around them, and putting things in context, the Raiders have managed well. When it comes to Brown, the team finds itself at 4-3 even though the tackle has just played in two games. A lot of credit should go to offensive line coach Tom Cable for the job he’s doing in 2020. Against the Browns, the offensive line dominated in the running game and kept quarterback Derek Carr upright. They accomplished this without Brown, who fell victim to a botched pre-game IV. At the time of this writing, Brown was still in impatient care in Cleveland according to TMZ Sports. Hopefully Brown can return at some point in the next few weeks.

Raiders lose ‘Mo’ and Arnette has not returned yet

The Raiders lost Hurst to an ankle sprain on Sunday after playing only six snaps. Coach Gruden appears to be optimistic that it’s nothing serious. Hurst will be limited in practice this week according to Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. So far in 2020, Hurst has eight solo tackles, five quarterback hits, and one pass defense in six games. Considering the lack of production from the defensive line, losing Hurst is the last thing the Raiders need.

Arnette, one of the team’s first-round picks, might be rejoining the Silver and Black really soon. After battling a thumb injury then a COVID-19 scare, Arnette can hopefully pick up where he left off. The good news comes from The Athletic’s Vic Tafur via Twitter, it appears Gruden is optimistic that Arnette will return versus the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. It’s been a rough stretch but the Raiders roster is slowly getting healthy again.
