The Las Vegas Raiders continued their winning ways, running away with a win against the Denver Broncos. Leading the way were the running backs who pulverized the opponent’s defense.
In a game that shouldn’t have been so close, the Raiders did what they had to do. Quarterback Derek Carr had a solid outing despite no touchdown passes. More importantly, it was clean football from the passing game with no interceptions. Instead, to pull off the win, Raiders head coach Jon Gruden went to his stable of running backs. The Las Vegas pounded the ball and shoved it down the throats of a helpless Denver defense.

What Did The Raiders Running Game Look Like?
By the end of the game, both Josh Jacobs and Devontae Booker had feasted on the Broncos. Jacobs ended the contest with 112 rushing yards as he averaged 5.3 yards per attempt. Booker, the former Bronco, amassed 81 yards off of 16 carries and averaged 5.1 yards an attempt. Even Carr was involved with the running game and broke off a nine-yard run, showing he will use his legs when necessary.

As far as scoring, this one got ugly for the Broncos as they gave up four touchdowns on the ground. Two apiece to Jacobs and Booker, sheer domination by these running backs. Jacobs after the game stated that he believes this win will put the Raiders on the map with a 6-3 record.

That’s definitely possible all things, but let’s not forget the Kansas City Chiefs are next. Regardless, Carr recognized that having a running game that can win you games is nice. It’ll be scary down the road when both the passing and running games can dominate at the same time. For now, Jacobs said it best after the game when he emphasized that it all starts and ends with the running game. That certainly was the case today.
