Raiders Don’t Let Week 11 Loss To Chiefs Bring Them Down

A loss is a loss, regardless of how you dissect it, and there are no moral victories in the NFL. However, there’s a feeling of optimism surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders following their 35-31 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Raiders didn’t put a team effort against the Chiefs

Losing is not ok, and nobody likes participation trophies. The Chiefs were simply the best team in Week 11, but the Raiders kept everyone on their toes until the last moment. Derek Carr was his efficient self and went 23-of-31 for 275 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Moreover, he averaged 8-9 yards per attempt.

It was the rest of this Las Vegas team that failed ‘4’. The defense couldn’t stop the Chiefs’ offense, their receivers dropped key passes and the running game averaged a paltry 3.2 yards per carry. Nevertheless, the Raiders quarterback isn’t letting their most recent loss bother him.

Derek Carr trusts the process

Carr said in a recent sitdown with the local media he believes the Raiders played a great game on offense. In the end, it wasn’t enough, but he thinks this is the best team he’s ever been part of. He says he is pleased with the work he’s put in. He added this is a young squad and is excited about where it’s headed.

Looking back at the game, there isn’t much Carr can do better. He’s not happy the Raiders lost, but he can’t do much about it. He did his part and can’t change things. He’s focused on the things he can control and the results the team will reap the rewards if they keep playing hard.

Both head coach Jon Gruden and Darren Waller agree Carr has done a great job playing and leading the team. The Raiders tight end also echoes the quarterback mindset and say there are positives to build on and are looking forward to having another chance to get on the winning side next week.
