Raiders Find Themselves With A Sense Of Urgency in NFL Week 13

The Las Vegas Raiders were cruising at one point this season and almost swept the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020. That’s all changed now, following a devastating loss at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons.

With a playoff berth hanging in the balance, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr expressed concern and reflection following last Sunday’s game. This team’s looking to return to the postseason for just a second time in Carr’s career. Well, according to ‘DC4’, the vibe and feeling around practice and the team overall wasn’t good recently.

“I didn’t think, personally, we had our best week of practice. Our week of practice was not to the standard that we have set.”

Speaking to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Carr certainly doesn’t sound happy with his teammates. The question now whether they will respond. If the Silver and Black hope to be playing in late January, they’ll have to step up.

Fullback Alec Ingold also reflected on the loss, sharing his belief that the Raiders have leadership within its ranks but the team is youthful. This doesn’t sound like an excuse, rather, it’s quite an accurate statement on this roster, one of the youngest the Raiders have had.

By that same token, Ingold didn’t mince words when he too criticized his team’s performance. “Whatever we did last week will not work,” Ingold said. “Now or in the playoffs. So we just can’t do it anymore.”

Ingold’s right, nothing worked last Sunday for the Raiders on offense. Turnovers and penalties will do that to your squad’s chances. The New York Jets haven’t won a game in 2020 but if the Raiders lose this one too, it’ll be a safe bet to drop the curtain on this year’s squad.
