How Did Raiders’ Receiving Game Fare In Week 14 vs Colts?

The Las Vegas Raiders were unable to keep up with the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14. Nevertheless, their receivers had solid performances.

The Raiders defense overshadowed a solid performance on offense

The Philip Rivers-led Indianapolis Colts got away from the Raiders after halftime. This one lies on the shoulders of the defense though. A unit that couldn’t stop the Colts running game nor wide receiver T.Y. Hilton. Defensive talk aside, the Raiders did have a good showing in the receiving department thanks to some familiar faces.

Raiders quarterback Derek Carr had himself a solid outing, posting an 85.1 rating. He amassed two passing touchdowns and score another one with his legs, though he did throw two interceptions. On a side note, wide receiver Zay Jones threw a 29-yard pass going for a perfect rating as far as passing.

Nelson Agholor continues his redemption tour

As far as the Silver and Black were concerned, it was the usual suspects so to speak that showed up. Nelson Agholor, who’s been having a redemption season in Las Vegas, was the only player to cross 100 yards receiving. Add in a touchdown and a 36-yard reception to top off a solid outing. Tight end Darren Waller wasn’t quite as dominant as he was last week versus the New York Jets. ’83’ had a pedestrian game by his standards with seven catches, going for 75 yards though he averaged more than 10 yards per catch.

Tight end Foster Moreau had a huge 47-yard reception go to the house in this game, so that was a nice sighting. Perhaps, head coach Jon Gruden needs to incorporate him more, right?

A silver lining for the Raiders in this game might be that the pass defense didn’t allow any Colts receivers to go over 100 yards receiving. Any positives are surely welcomed by Raider Nation right now.
