Raiders Podcast: Ding Dong Guenther’s Gone

The Las Vegas Raiders fell to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14, which secured Paul Guenther’s spot in the unemployment line. Now, they battle for their playoff lives against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Raiders got humbled by the Colts

The Colts trotted into Las Vegas and won 44-27. While the Silver and Black held the game close until halftime, ‘Indy’ ran away from them as the game came to an end. The Raiders overall record falls to 7-6 and their playoff hopes are now on life support.

The Raiders defense gave up 40 or more points for the third time this season. They allowed 456 total yards including 212 on the ground. The Colts converted on 73 percent of their third-down plays. The matchup was an overall dominating performance by the ‘Horseshoe’.

Guenther Sent Packing

After the game, it didn’t take Raiders head coach Jon Gruden long to give defensive coordinator Paul Guenther his walking papers. Defensive line coach Rod Marinelli takes the reigns of the defense for the remaining games this season. Look for the defense to give it their all for their new leader inspite of losing several players to injury for the next game against the Chargers.

As far as the next game goes, the hosts are split on who will come out victorious. Two see the Chargers ending up on top, but one still sees the Raiders holding on for the victory.
