Las Vegas Raiders receiver Hunter Renfrow

Gamble Ramble: Betting The Raiders In Week 2

The Las Vegas Raiders are heading to Pennsylvania this week to face the Pittsburgh Steelers. This could prove to be a tough matchup for Vegas, and the betting lines reflect that. Lets see where there is potential to make money. *All lines are as of Friday afternoon, according to Draft Kings.

Smartest Bet: Raiders + 6.5 (-105)

Given where the line is, this is an easy one to feel confident about. Given what we saw from both teams last week, it is hard to see the Steelers winning by more than a touchdown. That’s especially true after seeing the Vegas defense. The Raiders might not leave Pittsburgh with a win, but it will be at least be close. Something about this game feels like a defensive struggle. While the odds on that line aren’t very juicy, they are good enough for a line that feels certain.

Safest Bet: Hunter Renfrow Over 3.5 Receptions (-145)

This one feels like a joke. Hunter Renfrow getting at least four catches is a gimme. It’s one of those situations where you have to wonder what the oddsmakers know. I think a lot of it has to do with that stalwart Pittsburgh secondary, but still. Even Marlon Humphrey had trouble keeping up with the Raiders slot receiver. Renfrow is going to catch at least four balls. This one is free money.

Best Risky Bet: Raiders ML/Over 46.5 (+550)

If you want to bet the Raiders’ money line, you might as well combine it with the over. I think the Raiders are going to lose 24-20. However, if the Raiders win, they will likely be putting up at least 27 points. This means you would only be 20 out of the Steelers, which I am confident they can muster that against a Raiders defense that is better, but still not great.
