Which members of the Las Vegas Raiders will provide value in fantasy football on Sunday?
Quarterback
Derek Carr is still the 11th highest-scoring quarterback after a subpar performance last week. It is easy to point out that the offensive line has held him back, allowing 12 sacks so far. That can still be a factor for how Carr does this week as well. The Bears defense leads the league in sacks with 15. With defensive tackle Akiem Hicks listed as doubtful, that can make things easier. The Bears’ secondary is not what it used to be, so that will help even more. With that said, you should be cautious to start Carr this week and perhaps look at other optionsÂ
Running Back
There hasn’t been much to feel excited about with this group. The Raiders running game has only averaged 3.3 yards-per-carry this season. Even with Josh Jacobs returning against a lowly Chargers running defense, they accumulated only 48 rushing yards. Now, they are playing a formidable defensive line that allows the 10th fewest points to running backs. The Bears’ secondary being the weak link will only encourage the Raiders to throw more. Jacobs’s only possible upside will be any goal-line opportunities that may come his way, which is a bit too much to bet on.
Wide Receiver
This group could go off. Hunter Renfrow has been solid but has improved, ranking 22nd among wide receivers in fantasy. Henry Ruggs III has built chemistry with Carr and has averaged 6.25 targets and 74.25 receiving yards per game. What is even more encouraging is that the Bears’ defense has allowed the seventh-most points to wide receivers. As long as Carr is given time to throw, the wide receiver corps should put up some points. Renfrow and Ruggs are in a good spot as sleepers.
Tight End
Despite the Bears allowing the seventh-fewest points to tight ends, there should be no reason to worry about starting Darren Waller. He is the second-highest scoring tight end in the league. We have mentioned multiple times that the Bears’ secondary hasn’t been good, so that should make fantasy owners even more comfortable.
Kicker
Daniel Carlson dropped down to being the fifth highest-scoring kicker in fantasy. He also missed a 52-yard field goal last week. That should not deter anyone from starting him this week.
Defense/Special Teams
There is potential for the Raiders’ defense to produce this week. Opposing defenses have averaged 8.25 points when playing against the Bears. The Raiders defensive line has been a strong unit all around and should be able to put plenty of pressure on Justin Fields. They just might be worth your time this week.
