Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby is ready to build off his 12.5 sacks last season. The 25-year-old is always on the opposing team’s radar when facing the Silver and Black; however, Crosby is ready to take his game to another level.
As the 2023 season approaches, Crosby, like many players across the league, have their individual goals to go along with the team objectives. The Raiders’ defensive end has made it loud and clear what he plans to do this upcoming season.
Meanwhile, former Vegas wide receiver Tyron Johnson will continue his NFL career attempting to win a spot on the Dallas Cowboys depth chart.
Maxx Crosby wants to be the best at his position
Crosby’s goal for the upcoming season isn’t to be one of the best pass rushers in the NFL; he wants to be the best pass rusher in the league. In a recent interview, the Eastern Michigan product laid out his plans for the upcoming.
“I’ve got one goal – I want to be the best at what I do,” Crosby told the Las Vegas Review-Journal (h/t Clutch Sports). “I’ve got many big goals I’m trying to achieve, and it takes more than being 50 percent in. It takes all my attention, all year round …
“Everybody in my circle, which is a very small circle, they know what my mission is, and they understand what I go through. But that’s what it takes to be great, and that’s what I’m doing every single day.”
Crosby has been recognized with a Pro Bowl selection in the last two seasons. However, the Raiders star has to leap over some names from the sack leaderboard from the previous season, such as Nick Bosa, Micah Parsons, T.J. Watt and Myles Garrett.
Bosa led all defensive linemen with 18.5 sacks in 2022; nonetheless, with Crosby’s mentality, it wouldn’t be a shocker to see him atop the sack leaders this season.
Ex-Raiders wideout Tyron Johnson looks to find a spot on the Cowboys
Johnson spent parts of two seasons with Vegas, where he played in seven games but didn’t register any catches. Nonetheless, the 27-year-old does have speed, as he ran a 4.36 40-yard dash before entering the NFL and is still very fast.
KPCR2’s Aaron Wilson reported that Dallas would be the latest team attempting to tap into the speed Johnson can bring to the group. Johnson’s best NFL season came in 2020 when he registered 20 receptions and 328 yards in 12 games for the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Cowboys released wide receiver Antonio Callaway to make room for the Johnson signing.
