Thanks to Trayvon Mullen, the Las Vegas Raiders have one half of their defensive backfield locked down.

For what seems like an eternity, the Raiders have lacked quality and consistency at cornerback. That’s not saying there haven’t been some talented playmakers, but they’ve been few and far in between. To remedy this, general manager Mike Mayock, who has done a masterful job picking talent, selected Mullen in last year’s draft. Mullen, who played his collegiate career at Clemson, brought championship pedigree with him along with size and plenty of speed.

The 2021 NFL Draft is going to take place in Cleveland, Ohio from April 29 to May 1. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold seven picks with selections coming in the first, second, third, fourth, sixth, and two seven rounders.

The Raiders traded their 2021 fifth to the Bills for wide receiver Zay Jones. In addition, they sent kicker Eddy Pineiro to the Bears for a 2021 seventh-round selection. For the moment, Las Vegas is not projected to receive any compensatory picks next year. The Raiders have done a good job filling the roster with talent on both ends of the ball. For that reason, there are few needs remaining on the team heading into the 2020 season. Nonetheless, this can and will change as the season goes on. For now, let’s look at their 2021 mock draft.

Note: Picks used are based on 2020 Vegas Super Bowl Odds which have the Raiders 18th best odds with a +4500 odds...

Las Vegas Raiders fandom should not overlook Justin Fargas when it comes to Silver and Black running backs.

The first running back who comes to mind when people think of the Raiders is Marcus Allen. Who can forget his Super Bowl run against Washington?

Also, they likely picture Bo Jackson running through the tunnel. However, other than those two, not many turn up at the Raiders top echelon. Hardcore fans may remember Tyrone Wheatley running through Kansas City and refusing to go down back in 1999. Others might look back at Napoleon Kauffman doing his thing against Denver in 1997. In 2008, Darren McFadden went against the Chiefs and Latavius Murray did the same in 2014. Nevertheless, none of them would be confused with All-Time legends. While Marcus Allen leads the Raiders all-time rushing list with 8,545 yards, Fargas takes the tenth place with 3,369 yards.

The Las Vegas Raiders legend’s remarks on the murder of George Floyd make it clear why we should all be outraged, and come together to bring about the necessary reforms so that these things stop happening. “…And so you know there’s gonna be some people that’s gonna comment about this post and say ‘you know what well the police kill more white people than black people.’ Really? I don’t see it. And if they do, you need to call the networks and it needs to be reported that that’s what’s happening in your community. Because I don’t see it. There’s still lots of time before the Las Vegas Raiders take the practice field to commence position battles. That being said, one position to monitor is strongside linebacker.

Raiders general manager Mike Mayock and head coach Jon Gruden had the team invest heavily in the linebacker position. The action was more than warranted as the Raiders refused to use draft capital on a linebacker for years. Rolando McClain might’ve discouraged the team from drafting a linebacker early. Instead, Raiders brass went the free agency route. Nick Kwiatkoski and Cory Littleton were both brought in the revolutionize the position in Paul Guenther’s defensive scheme.

Raiders WR Corps Is Full of Potential and Uncertainty

The Las Vegas Raiders have revamped their wide receiver corps in the offseason. However, the group as a whole is a question mark ahead of the 2020 season.

The Raiders were conscious they needed to upgrade their wide receiver corps after a less than stellar 2019 season. Tyrell Williams was injured throughout the year and was not fully effective. Hunter Renfrow had a good rookie season, but he’s best suited in the slot. Knowing they needed a true number one wideout, Las Vegas selected a couple wide receivers in the draft, Henry Ruggs III and Bryan Edwards. Moreover, they added Nelson Agholor in free agency. Their wide receiver corps will certainly look quite different in 2020.

Defensive end Maxx Crosby had a slow start in the 2019 season for the Las Vegas Raiders. However, he finished the year strong and is poised to be even better in his sophomore season.

Crosby only had two sacks and four quarterback hits and four tackles for a loss in the first half of the season. Then, something clicked in the second half and he became one of the Raiders young faces on defense. Moreover, he ended the year with 10 sacks, 16 tackles for a loss and 14 quarterback hits.
