The seventh round of the NFL draft is often overlooked by many folks. However, a team can often find hidden gems in the last round of the selection meeting. With the NFL draft a little more than a month away, we’re looking at certain rounds for the Raiders this past decade. For starters, let’s take a look at the final round of the player’s selection meeting first.

2018: Marcell Ateman
2017: Treyvon Hester, Jylan Ware, and Elijah Hood
2016: Vadal Alexander

Was Marcell Ateman the best of the bunch for the Raiders?
The most notable thing about this assembly of players is that none of them are currently on the Raiders, except for Marcell Ateman. Call it bad luck or simply not being talented enough but the Silver and Black haven’t done overly well in the seventh round. On the bright side, Quinton Bell has a Super Bowl ring now thanks to the 2020 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
By default, Ateman would the best of this past decade. He played a total of 18 games from 2018-2019, hauling in 20 receptions and scoring a lone touchdown back in the 2018 campaign. If nothing else, he displayed some burst and speed during that stretch, averaging 13.5 yards per reception. Hester did have a forced fumble back in his sole season with the Raiders but he did notch one start in the process.
