Degeneration R: Taking on the NFL Lines Week 9

These lines are the posted lines from the Bovada Sports Book as of Tuesday October 30, 2018.

Record Last Week: Warning, Rory got annihilated, just as predicted

Rory: 3-11

Chris: 9-5

Record Year To Date: Chris takes the lead!

Rory: 53-62-6

Chris: 54-61-6

Oak @ SF +3

Rory: I advise everyone to get a massive sugar high before watching this game. Maybe, if you see spots, it might be entertaining. On a serious note, if the Raiders defense doesn’t at least slow down a third string quarterback, then just end the season.

Chris: Let’s be honest, this is a “toilet bowl” game if there ever was one. I heard on the radio that this is the worst combined winning percentage of a nationally televised football game. I’ll take the Raiders because Derek Carr will throw 6 touchdowns. Ok, maybe not 6, but you get the idea, he’s going to have a big day.
Pit @ Bal -3

Rory: I am not sure I trust either team in this rivalry, but I do love the idea of Pittsburgh getting points.

Chris: This is one of my favorite rivalries in the NFL. Will the Ravens bounce back or will the Steelers continue to rise? I’ll take the latter.
Det @ Min -5

Rory: Detroit is basically the NFC version of the Raiders and they just traded Golden Tate. The Vikings should do enough to slow that offense and cover.

Chris: I think Kirk Cousins and Matt Stafford each have big games, but I like Captain Kirk. Also, Tay Train has been looking nice for the Vikings.
Atl @ Was -1.5

Rory: Always fade dome teams playing outside. The Redskins added another safety and the Atlanta defense still struggles.

Chris: Home field advantage plays a big role, but the Falcons are desperately trying to stay alive in the playoff hunt. I’ll take the Falcons here.
TB @ Car -7

Rory: Ryan Fitzpatrick ends lives. Gambling lives at least. He can either be amazing or a total disaster. This week, I think he leads the Buccaneers to a close loss. Very inspiring.

Chris: THE BEARD IS BACK PEOPLE!!!! And just like last week, it won’t be quite enough. Panthers handle their business at home.
KC @ Cle -9

Rory: C’mon, really… only 9 points? Give me the Chiefs.

Chris: Patrick Mahomes…nuff said. That means Chiefs.
NYJ @ Mia -3

Rory: Brocktober is coming to an end and the Jets are licking their chops to rock his world.

Chris: This one is a toss-up to me, I’ll take the home team. Could go either way, but I like the emergence of Kenyon Drake in the Dolphins run game.
Chi @ Buf +9

Rory: Derek Anderson or Mitch Trubisky…. Can I have a lobotomy instead? Fine… Bears.

Chris: DA BEARS! The Bills defense hung tough with the Patriots last week, but that offense is atrocious.
LAC @ Sea +1.5

Rory: As usual the Chargers are the best team that constantly chokes and figures out a way to lose. Seattle is like Kansas City, you really don’t want to bet against it.

Chris: No one wants to talk about how good the Chargers are. They show up to the 12th man in Seattle and get the W with a big day from Melvin Gordon.
Hou @ Den -1.5

Rory: Denver really shouldn’t be home favorites. Houston getting points is something I love.

Chris: Demaryius Thomas returns to Denver; will he play? Who knows at this point, but even if he doesn’t I think the Texans go into Mile High and snag a win.
LAR @ NO -1.5

Rory: This should be one heck of a shootout that the Rams end up winning.

Chris: NFC Championship preview? I’ll take the Saints in round one.
GB @ NE -6

Rory: Green Bay continues to put up middling performances with the ailing Aaron Rodgers. Brady and the Patriots are not dominating, but they are chugging along just as Belichick planned it.

Chris: Patriots in a big-time game with home field advantage? I ain’t picking against that.
Ten @ Dal -6.5

Rory: Watch Amari catch several deep balls on basic routes. Nope, not bitter. The Titan defense has been very good this season, but Cowboys cover.

Chris: Kind of a lame Monday Night game, but I am curious to see how Amari Cooper does with his new team. I think overall it will be much of the same of what was seen in Oakland the last two seasons. But I do anticipate a strong showing from him in his debut. I’ll say 7 catches 90 yards and a touchdown. Cowboys win by 7 to cover.

Where We Disagree: Atl @ Was -1.5, TB @ Car -7, NYJ @ Mia -3, LAC @ Sea +1.5, LAR @ NO -1.5
