Derek Carr

Clap back Derek Carr in full effect

Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is rather quiet on his social media platforms during the season. The offseason is a different story. Many have dubbed the QB ‘Clap back Carr’ for his rebuttals to hot takes on Twitter.

One such hot take that has sparked the clap back in Carr is the notion “You can see when a quarterback don’t want it. Carr didn’t want it.” – this according to the football genius himself, Max Kellerman. Expanding on this point even further, Kellerman continued by saying “I think Gruden knows they got to move on.” This claim, however, was backed by nothing to give it any credibility.

Now Carr wants to take this a step further and bring it to the octagon and settle the score.

Kellerman isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to football knowledge as he followed up the bogus claim on Carr with, “I think Doug Flutie is a good quarterback!” as the discussion was centered around the talented albeit short, Kyler Murray.

Flutie certainly wasn’t terrible, but all things considered he only started 10 or more games in three seasons. In his lengthy career, Flutie started in a whopping two playoff games, the first being his only start in the 1986 season as Jim McMahon was injured, to which Flutie completed 11 of 31 pass attempts for 134 yards, with one touchdown toss and two interceptions. Flutie’s second playoff start was in 1998 and despite throwing for over 300 yards, he only threw one touchdown along with an interception as the Bills lost. Needless to say, Flutie isn’t exactly what I would label as a “good quarterback”, but then again, I’m not Max Kellerman.

The moral of the Doug Flutie tangent is that Max Kellerman isn’t the brightest football brain around and Carr recognized this with another tweet. This time around, Carr was referring to the outspoken Stephen A. Smith as well as Kellerman. Carr said, “Those 2 clowns don’t know anything about this game.” Carr went on to say he “Would love to actually sit and break down film with these two on tv just to show their viewers how incompetent (lacking qualification) they are about our game.”

What say you Raider Nation, who would you put your money on in a Derek Carr vs Max Kellerman UFC sponsored fight?
