After months of speculation and an endless stream of mocks, the wait is over for Raider Nation! Who would be the first selection of the new Jon Gruden-Mike Mayock duo?
Much to the dismay of fans who wanted Quinnen Williams, the DT ended up getting picked up by the NY Jets, the Raiders opted to go with Clelin Ferrell out of Clemson.

The reaction of many fans in Nashville was rather anti-climatic but let’s see what Raider Nation had to say on Twitter.

Folks, this is why you don't go into the draft with glaring needs without solid veteran placeholders at that particular spot. You start drafting for need–and I LIKE Clelin Ferrell for the #Raiders. I just don't love it at 4.

While it can be said many were left confused by the pick since Ferrell might’ve been available later in the first round today, it’s nonetheless a solid pick. A true defensive leader.
For now the fans will have to faith in the Gruden-Mayock brain trust as everyone awaits the next two picks later today.
