Imperative TE Darren Waller Gets Targeted Early and Often Vs Chiefs

After some dominant performances by the Oakland Raiders tight end, it is of the utmost importance that Darren Waller is involved more. With the playoffs potentially on the line, this will be imperative for continued success.

One of the most welcomed surprises has been the emergence of Oakland Raiders tight end Darren Waller. His evolution has been so outstanding the team signed him for the long haul.

The new contract was well deserved and to his credit, Waller has had some monster games. To date his best performances were against the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers. Against the Vikings, Waller notched 13 receptions totaling 134 receiving yards in spite of the loss.

In the past two games however, he only has eight total receptions with zero touchdowns. While it may not necessarily be crucial that he “scores,” it is vital the Raiders get him going early and often. Pro Football Focus recently shared via Twitter that Waller leads all tight ends in yards after the catch so the Raiders need to take advantage of this beast at tight end.

Prediction for this game? 10 catches for 85 yards, no touchdowns. Ramble on, Raider Nation.
