The Las Vegas Raiders need to strengthen the wide receiver corps, so why not bring in Travis Benjamin?
Raiders Must Jump on FA Travis Benjamin
Other than Hunter Renfrow and Tyrell Williams, no one should be back from last year’s group for the Raiders. General manager Mike Mayock could opt for a wide receiver in the first of this year’s NFL Draft. Hypothetically speaking, that might not be enough.
The #Chargers and WR Travis Benjamin are mutually parting ways after the team and agent Ron Butler met at the Combine, source said. Benjamin, who has been with the team since 2016, will be a free agent when the league year begins.

Benjamin, who will not be returning to the L.A. Chargers, could be a nice boost for the Raiders. This is if course assuming he’s healthy. Last season, he only played in five games, not since 2013 with the Cleveland Browns had he missed that many games.

Fans will no doubt want the team to pass on a player they’ll deem “damaged goods.” While that’s a fair point given his injury history, fact is when healthy, Benjamin still has shown the speed. 15.1 yards per reception and a 52.3% catch percentage for career averages indicate you’d be getting quality when healthy.
A final thought, no would be expecting Benjamin to come in and be the number one receiver. Far from it, as he would be protected being surrounded by the likes of Williams, Renfrow, and whoever else the Raiders sign or draft.
