Many think the Vegas Raiders will draft a wide receiver with the twelfth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. However, there isn’t a consensus regarding the direction the Silver and Black will take regarding the nineteenth pick.
Wide receiver at No.12 makes sense for the Raiders. This is true as the past couple of seasons there hasn’t been a player that could take over a game or one deserving of a defensive game plan after him. Mock after mock, prognosticators have been in the same wavelength and think the Raiders will pick one of the top prospects and more often than not, Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb, and Henry Ruggs III got their vote.
Nonetheless, no one seems to agree whom Las Vegas will draft with the nineteenth overall pick. Charles Davis of NFL Media opines the Raiders will get their hands on Lamb with No.12 and Texas Christian University defensive tackle Ross Blacklock at No.19. Evan Silva of Establish the Run sees Ruggs and Utah cornerback Jaylon Johnson going to Las Vegas. NBC Sports’ Scott Bair is of the opinion Raiders brass will double dip and get Jeudy and Horned Frogs wide receiver Jalen Reagor.
There’s a running theme, most are forecasting the Raiders will draft a wide receiver with the twelfth. The only outlier is BR’s Mike Freeman, who thinks Tristan Wirfs will be their selection. In the same manner, it’s anyone’s guess who will be their choice with their second round pick. Doug Farrar of Touchdown Wire says Antoine Winfield it is. In his mock, Vic Tafur of the Athletic says they trade the 19th and the 81th to Minnesota and get the Vikings’ 25th and 58th overall. Finally, Maurice Moton of Silver and Black Pride agrees with SI’s Albert Breer and says that if the Raiders can find a trade partner, they will move down.
The bottom line is that the Raiders will have options and that even if a prospect they like is gone by the time they pick, they won’t have to corner themselves.
