After a productive Day 2 of the NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders sought to add more depth and reinforcements yesterday. How did Raider Nation feel about the Day 3 picks?

Raiders Blog: Thoughts on Day 3 of the NFL Draft

The draft got started with a bang as Mayock orchestrated a trade earlier Saturday morning, followed by picks which added to the secondary and offensive line. Day 3 selections were announced throughout the day via the official Raiders Twitter, needless to say, fans are excited.

Mayock’s trend of selecting Clemson players continued with the selection of guard John Simpson. The offensive line was one of the Raiders’ biggest strengths last year but adding another guard never hurts. Obviously Simpson brings championship pedigree so it only adds to the culture Mayock’s building in Vegas. Fans for their part were enthusiastic, and who can blame them with the Raiders adding to their biggest strength.

Team Gets Another CB

The Raiders got defensive coordinator Paul Guenther more reinforcements on Day 3, this time in the form of cornerback Amik Robertson. The two time All-American defensive back was quick to express his excitement on Twitter today.

Robertson’s demeanor and attitude will be welcomed by Raider Nation after all the team does have something to prove in their first season in Vegas. The response to Robertson’s Tweet was we would expect, fans welcoming him with open arms to Raider Nation. Even future teammate and current star running back Josh Jacobs welcome Robertson as the camaraderie is already underway.
