The Las Vegas Raiders added plenty of new players both through the NFL Draft and free agency. Already part of the team, the newcomers had their numbers issued.
Via the Raiders official website, the team issued numbers to the players they drafted and signed this offseason.
Some players who were already on the roster changed numbers. They are:
- No.02 K, Daniel Carson
- No.17 WR, De’Mornay Pierson-El
- No.21 CB, Nick Nelson
- No.34 CB, D.J. Killings
- No.36 RB, Rod Smith
- No.78 DL, Kendal Vickers
- No.95 DL, Jeremiah Valoaga
Carson wore No.8 last season, but he gave his number to quarterback Marcus Mariota, who signed with the team this past free agency.

When it came to the players that joined the Raiders via the draft, Lynn Bowden Jr. will wear No.33, which means he will indeed be part of the running back rotation. On the other hand, Henry Ruggs III will rock No.11, the same number he wore with the Crimson Tide.
- No.11 WR, Henry Ruggs III
- No.20 CB, Damon Arnette
- No.33 RB, Lynn Bowden Jr.
- No.41 CB Amik Robertson
- No.55 LB Tanner Muse
- No.76 OL John Simpson
- No.89 WR, Bryan Edwards
When checking the other players, there’s something that sticks out. Cory Littleton will be rocking No.42, the same as Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott and the late Eric Turner, who played three seasons with the Raiders and had 30 interceptions in 109 career games.
- No.08 QB, Marcus Mariota
- No.15 WR, Nelson Agholor
- No.23 DB, Damarious Randall
- No.38 SS, Jeff Heath
- No.42 LB, Cory Littleton
- No.44 LB, Nick Kwiatkoski
- No.64 OL, Eric Kush
- No.65 OL, Jordan Devey
- No.82 TE, Jason Witten
- No.84 TE, Nick O’Leary
- No.93 DL, Daniel Ross
- No.94 DL, Carl Nassib
- No. 97 DL, Maliek Collins
At the end of the day, the players make the number, not the other way around. For that reason, it will be interesting to see which Raiders newcomer may make a name for himself and leaving a legacy behind.
