Raiders GM Mike Mayock Excited About Energy in Henderson HQ

The Las Vegas Raiders coaches and front office staff just met for the first since at Intermountain Healthcare Performance Center. General Manager Mike Mayock was ready to get to work for the first time at the high-end facilities in Henderson.

The Raiders are almost finished moving to Las Vegas and Monday 22th marked the first time the team staff met since March. Vinnie Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal talked to the general manager about his first day at the new facilities.

Raiders: Amazing and Better than Previous Facilities

Regarding the building, Mayock said that it was amazing and threw a subtle jab at the Alameda headquarters.

“It’s hard to put into words, and honestly I have to still get used to it because it’s so big and so different from what we’re used to. But it’s amazing.”

Also, Mayock says that players will notice the difference between installations too. “I think a lot of the players, when they walk in here, they’re gonna say ‘wow’.”

It’s not just the facade thought, the meeting space, the food and the rehab area all are great. Mayock thinks “a lot of the players, when they walk in here, they’re gonna say ‘wow’.”

“We have so much meeting space. The food is off the charts. Our training and rehab area is completely different. I think we’re going to have the ability to give our players the first class treatment and that’s what’s really exciting.”

On the other hand, the Henderson facilities weren’t the sole reason for Mayock’s excitement. The fact he was able to see his co-workers after so many months was a welcomed development.

“As much as I love this new building and how much I want to get used to it and get comfortable with it, the biggest thing is just being around the guys. We’ve seen each other on Zoom calls for too long now.”

New facilities won’t guarantee the Raiders will win in 2020. However, it must motivate the organization as a whole to perform better. A quaint and unattended workplace can bring morale down. That has now been taken care of.
