Raiders C Rodney Hudson The Best When It Comes to Pass Blocking Prowess

Las Vegas Raiders center Rodney Hudson has ranked at the top of the NFL in pass blocking since 2015. That’s one of the main reasons he’s constantly in talks regarding the best players at his position.

Ever since Hudson joined the Raiders back in 2015, he has been a staple of the team’s offensive line. He’s been so good and intrinsically linked to the Raiders that it’s easy to forget he played for the Chiefs before donning the Silver and Black.

Raiders: The Best as What He Does

In a recent Tweet, Pro Football Focus pointed out who the best center at pass blocking was since 2015. To nobody’s surprise, Hudson is the one.

When it comes to the best centers in the league, Jason Kelce and Maurkice Pouncey get more recognition than Hudson, and it’s easy to see why. Both the Eagles and the Steelers have had more on-field success. That in turn gives a more mainstream platform to Kelce and Pouncey. Make no mistake, Hudson is as good as the others, it’s just that the Raiders haven’t accomplished much in recent years. Hence, the lack of spotlight for Hudson and why others have overshadowed him.

Surprisingly, the Raiders’ veteran center has been voted first-team All-Pro once in his career. Meanwhile, Kelce has gotten the honor three times and Pouncey twice. If the Raiders start winning more often, it’s likely Hudson will get more name recognition among the NFL.

While it may be easy to overlook Hudson, he’s been one of the best at what he does and that shouldn’t stop anytime soon.
