Raiders Week 1 Injury Report: Clean Bill of Health against Panthers

Last year wasn’t a good one for the Las Vegas Raiders when it came to injuries. It all started in training camp when wide receiver Antonio Brown froze his feet in a hyperbaric chamber. That should’ve been a sign of things to come, but this year, the Silver and Black enter Week1 without major losses.

Antonio Brown’s frozen feet was the first of many injuries in 2019

Although Brown wasn’t the only Raiders player to sustain injuries in 2019, he was the first major one to do so. The trend continued in the middle of the season when rookies Josh Jacobs and Hunter Renfrow missed some games. So did guard Gabe Jackson, right tackle Trent Brown and wide receiver Tyrell Williams.

This year, injuries have affected Williams once again. He suffered from a torn labrum in training camp and the Raiders placed him on the Injury Reserve list. The veteran wide receiver wasn’t the only player to get that designation though, the Raiders also placed offensive lineman Eric Kush and linebacker Tanner Muse on the list.

The Raiders will play Carolina with a full deck

Jacobs and Brown missed some practices in training camp, which made some wonder if they had sustained some injuries. They were working on their own and the team wasn’t very clear on what their status was. Nevertheless, both are healthy and will start again the Carolina Panthers. Cornerback Damon Arnette, defensive tackle Maliek Collins, and Brown were limited on Wednesday but practiced with no restrictions on Friday.

The Raiders listed guard Richie Incognito as limited on Thursday and Friday after not partaking in team activities on Wednesday. Nevertheless, there is nothing that indicates the veteran will miss the game against the Panthers. Incognito missed the first two games of the 2019 season due to a suspension, but he should have no problems seeing the field in Week 1 this time around.

Other than placing Tyrell Williams on the Injury Reserve list, the Raiders’ most prominent players will be available against the Panthers. Regardless of how the 2020 season plays out, there will go into Week 1 with a clean bill of health and that has to account for something, doesn’t it?
