How about that? The Las Vegas Raiders opened play in the new Allegiant Stadium last Sunday. Moreover, they came out resounding victors after beating the New Orleans Saints.
The Only Nation Podcast Ep. 27: Raiders Week 2 Overview and Week 3 Predictions
This week’s edition of The Only Nation Podcast is described perfectly in its title, “They Came, They Saw, We Conquered”. We open up detailing the Raiders’ first game in Allegiant Stadium, their new home. The Saints came to town, they saw what the home team has built. In the end, the Silver and Black conquered them soundly 34-24. We discuss the individual stand out performances of quarterback Derek Carr, running back Josh Jacobs, and tight end Darren Waller. Wide receiver Henry Ruggs III also had a huge impact even if the stat sheet does not reflect it.

The Raiders defense held future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees and the Saints to 24 points. Linebacker Nicholas Morrow and rookie cornerback Damon Arnette led the team with seven tackles apiece. Furthermore, Morrow added a huge interception just before halftime which allowed the Silver and Black to tie the game going into the half.
On to New England
Next, we take a look at this Sunday’s game where the Raiders will face the New England Patriots. T3 points out that they have an opportunity to push the Patriot’s defensive line around a bit because of their size. As far as game predictions go, we each have the Raiders taking this game.
We listen to this past week’s callers and congratulate one on predicting the Saints game correctly. The next caller asks our opinions on offensive tackle Trent Brown, and we don’t hold back. The show is wrapped up with a new Homer Did You Know segment about the Patriots and a few Heidi’s Heroes.
