QB Tom Brady Remains A Roadblock in Raiders’ Quest For Respect

The Las Vegas Raiders are quickly improving in 2020, but one major hurdle in their way to success remains and that’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.

Raider Nation seems to hate Brady in unison, and who came blame them given all the history? Raiders head coach Jon Gruden is also familiar with Brady, both as a coach and long-time commentator. Considering he still believes that “it was a fumble,” it’s safe to say Gruden is not a part of Brady’s fan club. That being said, Brady is still the NFL’s measuring stick, you can ask the Green Bay Packers if you don’t believe us. It is because of this reason that the Raiders will have to get through Brady if they want respect.

Love or hate him, Brady has been the NFL’s version of the “Excellence of Execution,” which is legendary wrestler Bret Hart’s moniker. On the other hand, we have the Silver and Black, who are finally turning the corner after nearly a generation of futility. The offense is clicking on all cylinders, led by quarterback Derek Carr and running back Josh Jacobs. What should the Raiders be prepared for as they await Brady and the Bucs in Week 7?

The Raiders Will Have Their Work Cut Out For Them, Again

Coming off a huge win against the Kansas City Chiefs has the team feeling good but the Bucs will be another challenge. The Tampa defense is one of the NFL’s best, with eight total interceptions, 22 sacks, and 46 total quarterback hits. Carr will be facing one of his toughest tests this year, maybe even tougher than the Chiefs. Safe to say that everything will have to be working on Sunday, from the running game to Carr’s deep passes.

More concerning than the Bucs’ defense is the fact that Brady could end up carving up Paul Guenther’s defense. If Clelin Ferrell and Maxx Crosby can keep up the pressure and get to Brady, Las Vegas has a chance. Albeit a small chance, ’12’ has been on a tear with 11 touchdown passes and just one interception in the last four games.

No one expected the Raiders to beat the Chiefs outside of Raider Nation. Versus Brady and the Bucs, it will be more of the same as Gruden continues to face his past. Things didn’t go well in Foxborough a few weeks ago, within the confines of Allegiant Stadium, will it be a different story against the NFL’s golden boy?

  1. I’m 51 years old and was born in the long beach area of California my father was a rams fan and took me to there games at the Coliseum when I was very young….in 1978 we bought a new house and my dad had a drinking buddy landscape it. One of his workers was a former raider fullback who was mostly a practice squad player in the late 60’s .he was a funny guy born in Guam and became a good friend of the family. He used to take me to football practice on his motorcycle and come out and throw us long bombs….I became a RAIDERS fan for life .in 1994 I got a RAIDERS tattoo long before it was popular…I write all this as a true fan so you will understand that I don’t hate Brady. It wasn’t his fault they called the b.s. tuck rule.and while the RAIDERS have sucked for most of bradys career and the fact we rarely play I don’t see the huge hate our fans give him….and nobody has made me more money betting than Brady….but whatever inspires us to beat Tampa bay then so be it….F Brady…go RAIDERS
