Fans Voice Displeasure With Raiders Recent Lack Of Trade Activity

By now, it has been established that the Las Vegas Raiders need help, more specifically, on defense. Be that as it may, does this mean the Silver and Black will make a trade? So far, fans aren’t too happy with the lack of activity by the front office.

Pulling off a trade in the NFL isn’t exactly easy, many factors have to come together, namely the price tags. For the Raiders, we can see that general manager Mike Mayock treasures the team’s draft picks ever since he joined the organization. There’s nothing wrong with this philosophy as the former NFL Media personality and Raiders brass have drafted some studs these past two years.

The problem is that these draft selections can sometimes take time to develop, case in point the Raiders 2020 draft class. So while it is great to have young in-house talent be developed in the team’s mold, the Raiders, they need help now. Well, that is if they are serious about making a playoff run.

The defense in particular needs reinforcements by way of safeties and some more help to mount a pass-rush. Head coach Jon Gruden said there will be ‘changes’ but no one really knows what that means other than the man himself and Mayock. With teams actively making deals as we speak, fans recently voiced their opinions as we took the case to Raider Nation. We asked our readers if they are ‘surprised’ or ‘disappointed’ with the apparent lack of activity. As always, Raider Nation did not fail us.

Fans Are Not Thrilled With The Raiders Front Office Right Now

Most fans expressed a feeling of disappointment but at the same time, they did not appear surprised. It is almost as if they are accustomed to being let down by the Raiders. One reader pointed out, in particular, their displeasure with the team dropping the ball on Carlos Dunlap.

Final Words

Raider Nation usually has their finger on their pulse and judging by the responses we got, they all made great points. The fact is, there is a good chance the Raiders do not make any trades and hold onto all their draft capital. A smart play though fans surely are hoping the 2021 draft class will have a more immediate impact.

Other fans like the talent that the roster already has and that what the team needs is new coaching. Gruden is not going anywhere but it’s true a new defensive shot-caller would be a fresh breath of air. It will be interesting to see what happens between now and November 3, Ramble On.
