Raiders Fantasy Recap: Jacobs Owners Rejoice and Must-Own Players

If you own Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs on your fantasy team, you probably won last week. The Alabama standout put up an obnoxious 29.6 PPR points in week 10, second-most points behind Kamara’s 34.8. Incredibly, his backup, Devontae Booker, also put up the eighth highest points for a running back. The ex-Bronco finished with 21.3 PPR points behind two fourth-quarter touchdowns. Do yourself a favor and add Booker if you own Jacobs. He’s as valuable of a handcuff as Alexander Mattison, Latavius Murray, and Jamaal Williams.

The Raiders have made it clear that they want to ride their running attack to the promised land. Over the last three weeks, the Raiders lead the league in rushing play percentage at 59.89 percent. They’ve won all three games in that span. The game flow won’t always command a heavy ground attack but expect the Silver and Black to keep Jacobs heavily involved each week. Continue to fire up Jacobs as an RB1 with unwavering confidence.

The Raiders’ pass offense had a quiet day thanks to the dominant running game. Tight end Darren Waller was disappointing in Week 10 but the box score doesn’t tell the whole story. He dropped a long touchdown pass that he had to adjust to. If Waller secured that pass, he would’ve easily finished as the highest-scoring tight end in week 10. Continue to keep the tight end in your lineups as he is undoubtedly a top-three option at the position.

Carr cannot be trusted in quarterback leagues. Even in juicy matchups, the Raiders would rather keep the ball on the ground than air it out. ‘DC4’ has just one finish inside the top 10 this season. The receiving core can be left on the waiver wire as well. The one player we wanted to highlight was Ruggs. He led the receivers in offensive snaps for the first time since Week 2. He had his best game against the Chiefs in Week 5, and if the Raiders want to win on Sunday night they will need another big outing from the rookie. Ruggs would be the only receiver we would roster going forward. However, we wouldn’t start him yet unless your team is really hurting at the position.

The defense and special teams made their presence felt in Week 10. The defense forced five turnovers against the Broncos, but they aren’t worth rostering until the Gunther lead defense shows more consistency. The big-named to highlight is Daniel Carlson. The kicker had the third-most points among kickers on the week. The rising star is the second-highest scoring kicker in fantasy this season and he’s a perfect 4-of-4 on kicks beyond 50 yards. Carlson is only owned in 53 percent of Yahoo leagues. If he’s available in your league, he’s a must-add. Aside from the Jets game in Week 13, the Raiders play in domes or warm weather cities the rest of the season. Pick. Him. Up.
