A few Las Vegas Raiders legends are potentially heading to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Among the players are fan-favorite Charles Woodson, defensive lineman Richard Seymour, and the underrated Eric Allen.
Charles Woodson is getting closer to getting enshrined
Alongside the players, former Raiders head coach Tom Flores will be joining some of these semifinalists. Woodson is an all-time great in the eyes of many fans and his records back that claim up. He was a nine-time Pro Bowler, three-time All-Pro, and the 2009 AP Defensive Player of the Year. The same season, the defensive back was instrumental in leading the Green Bay Packers to a Super Bowl victory.
In the 11 years of his career that was spent with the Silver and Black, Woodson totaled a whopping 27 interceptions. Even more amazing was that he amassed 84 passes defensed in that same span with the Raiders.
There’s no doubt that Woodson is a shoo-in for Canton, his legacy and career numbers back up that claim. Behind him, there’s a couple of other former Raiders that shore up the semifinalist group.

Allen and Seymour were underrated Raiders in their time
The 30th pick of the 1988 NFL Draft, Allen spent the final four years of his career with the Silver and Black. In that span, Allen amassed 15 interceptions, three of which went for touchdowns back in 2000. His total yardage for interceptions in his run with the Raiders was 256. He also had a sack and two fumble recoveries. On a side note, this will mark the first time that Allen is named as a semifinalist.
Seymour, an oft-overlooked Raider, will be a semifinalist once again, and 2021 will mark the fourth time he’s eligible. The sixth overall pick of the 2001 NFL Draft, Seymour is usually associated with the New England Patriots as he won three Super Bowls there. However, he spent time in Silver and Black from 2009-2012. A three-time All-Pro, Seymour started 52 of 53 games for the Raiders and had 18.5 sacks and 27 tackles for a loss during that time.
Woodson will be enshrined soon enough, but it’s uncertain how long these other Raiders will have to wait for their day. Make no mistake, while Allen and Seymour are associated with other teams, as Al Davis used to say, ‘Once a Raider, Always a Raider.’
