Only Nation Podcast: Raiders End Season On High Note

The Las Vegas Raiders ended their season on a high note, going into Denver and defeating the Broncos 32-31.

Final Victory

The Raiders wrapped up their 2020 campaign at 8-8. They improved their record by one win over the 2019 season and continued showing progress under head coach Jon Gruden. The victory did not come without suspense though, as the Silver and Black went for a two-point conversion towards the end of the game that put them up 32-31 instead of tying the game. Moreover, defensive End Maxx Crosby blocked a last-second field goal attempt by Denver’s Brandon McManus to preserve the win.

In the season finale, tight end Darren Waller completed a historic season. He now holds the record for most receptions in a year, not only for tight ends but for all Raider receivers. ‘D-Wall’ passed Tim Brown in the final game and ended his campaign with 107 receptions.

The Raiders are in need of a new defensive coordinator

Upon completion of the season, the Raiders will be looking to fill the position of defensive coordinator that was vacated by the firing of Paul Guenther. Wade Phillips is a popular choice among the hosts even if his hiring is unlikely. Atlanta Falcons interim head coach Raheem Morris is another desirable hire, but he will probably be looking for a head coach position as his first choice.
