The 2021 NFL schedule is out and The Only Nation Podcast crew is here to share the highlights. Along with current news, they keep you updated on all things that are Las Vegas Raiders.
Raiders free-agent signings
This episode starts by reviewing some more free-agent pickups by the Raiders. The signings of guard Marquel Harrell and wide receiver Caleb Scott are seen more as depth moves. Both will be valuable in camp, but whether they stick around for the season remains to be seen. After all, at least two players on the current roster who started as undrafted free agents have turned out to be notable contributors.
2021 schedule release
The Raiders will start their season under the lights of Monday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens. Unlike in recent years, there will not be a doubleheader. The entire night belongs to the Raiders and the public opening of the new Allegiant Stadium.
After the opening game, the Silver and Black will travel to Pittsburgh where they will take on a tough Steelers team. In Week 5, Las Vegas will have a true home game against the Chicago Bears. Chicago defensive end Khalil Mack, a former Raider, will be looking to serve revenge on his former team.
Not only will the Raiders be breaking in Allegiant Stadium on Monday Night Football, but they will be joining the Los Angeles Chargers in their appearance on MNF in Week 4. Another highlight to the season will be a Thanksgiving Day matchup at the Dallas Cowboys. Later on in the year, the Raiders will face a tough test as they visit Kansas City and Cleveland in consecutive weeks in December. Finally, the season ends with three division games in the final five weeks.
Episode wrap up
To finish the episode, Homer makes a plea to social media users to support young Raider players instead of tearing them down before they play a snap. In the spirit of the show, we end the episode with a schedule question which neither Homer nor Heidi can answer.
