Social Media Reacts To Final Raiders Preseason Game

The final Las Vegas Raiders preseason game wasn’t close if you look at the scoreboard. However, there were definitely some positives to be had. As always, Raider Nation had plenty to say about the good, the bad, and the downright ugly.

Even the worst of losses often present some sort of positive. For the Raiders, this matchup against the San Francisco 49ers was about player evaluations. In spite of the final outcome, Gerald McCoy shined in his first action since joining the Raiders. McCoy disrupted the Niners‘ offensive line throughout and showed that if healthy, he was an absolute steal.

The QB Dilemma

Jon Gruden’s decision to keep Derek Carr on the sidelines for this entire preseason is causing debate amongst many. People point to the need to keep Carr healthy but if ‘4‘ comes out looking rusty in Week 1, this decision will be revisited. As for Nathan Peterman, the preseason MVP has essentially thrown every pass for the Raiders. As you can imagine, fans had plenty to say about all of this along with Marcus Mariota not seeing action as well.

Nevin Lawson: Should He Stay Or Should He Go?

The issue of Lawson being on the Raiders continues to be a subject of great debate. Though to be fair, it appears to be a one-sided affair. Lawson’s play since arriving has been downright terrible and it begs the question of just how exactly does he still have a roster spot. It appears that Raiders brass is adamant in their belief that Lawson belongs on their team. How else can you explain him still being on the roster? By the same token, fans are just as passionate about getting him off their team.

Whether it’s good or bad, Raider Nation always speaks its mind. Yes, fans are optimistic about McCoy’s play along with several others such as Nate Hobbs. Nevertheless, they’ve made it known they’ve had enough of Lawson though they shouldn’t be surprised to see him back after his two-game suspension. Let’s see how fans react to the Raiders cutting down their roster to 53, as always, it will be interesting.
