Malik Willis is the most explosive quarterback prospect in college football

Liberty University’s Malik Willis is one of the most electrifying athletes in all sports. Moreover, his video-game-like plays make him a must-watch week in and week out.

The former Auburn Tiger transferred to Liberty before the 2020 campaign as the Tigers favored Bo Nix as their quarterback. Ultimately, the Tigers may regret that decision, as Willis is undoubtedly the most explosive signal-caller in all college football.

Whether through the air or on the ground, the Atlanta, Georgia native’s strengths are one of a kind.

What makes Willis so dangerous?

The world has seen few players of Willis’s talent in recent years. For instance, many are quick to compare him to NFL players such as Lamar Jackson and Michael Vick. But, on the other hand, Willis is in a different realm than what they were as prospects. Without a shadow of a doubt, Willis is a better (more accurate) passer than either of them was.

In addition, the Liberty Flame quarterback’s pass-first nature makes it hard on opposing defenses. However, there are a few things that Willis must improve at the NFL level.

Where can Willis improve and what to expect from him this season at Liberty…

Indeed, there are a few areas of concern about Willis’s game. First, he has to protect himself on some of his incredible runs in this clip. For instance, his skill set is elite, and nobody wants to see his availability lessened. Furthermore, if Willis intends to put some critics to bed, it wouldn’t hurt if he worked on his passing mechanics. He sometimes misses the simple throws due to inconsistent base/footwork, which cannot happen at the next level. Regardless, he is ready for a great 2021 season. He is, after all, a Heisman Trophy candidate. Above all, maybe the world will see why Malik is the top quarterback in the 2022 NFL Draft.
