The Las Vegas Raiders’ 2021 season opens up with one of the wildest finishes in recent memory. Raider Nation had plenty to say after surely seeing their blood pressure increase throughout this game.
This was the first game with fans in attendance following a season that was altered by Covid-19. Well, Raider Nation made up for lost time as they made their presence known. Even Raiders head coach Jon Gruden thanked them following the game, emphasizing they were a difference maker. Despite the crazy finish, there’s no doubt that everyone’s blood pressure was all over the place on Monday night.

So what did Raider Nation have to say on Twitter? Plenty as always, what would you expect after that roller coaster of events? Let’s take a look!
Our friend Scott Gulbransen from Las Vegas Sports Today shared a Tweet that sums up Derek Carr’s night accurately. Early on, the Raiders’ offense looked rusty, no doubt that skipping preseason played a role. However, as Gulbransen pointed out, Carr showed up and rallied the young offense when it mattered.
Derek Carr: 34-of-56, 435 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT. On a national stage…started off poorly but rallied when it mattered. #Raiders

No preseason, timing off offense line young and overwhelmed early. On the job training against grown men

What about that Raiders defense?
A lot of talk this offseason surrounding the Raiders was their defense. Changes were made across the board from coaching to the players. Tonight, those changes began to pay off, especially at the edges with Yannick Ngakoue and Maxx Crosby.
Raiders need 40 sacks to be a playoff team this year. Almost 10% of the way there after 1 game against the most mobile QB in the NFL.

Every player that the media highlighted tonight, went off.
Maxx and his sobriety:
2 sacks, 2 TFLWaller and his sobriety:
10 for 105 and a TDNassib being the only openly gay player on a roster:

My player that didn’t get much love, Yannick. What a addition and like many people said would only benefit Maxx and that showed tonight. It’s a dead horse and not the time but would have loved to seen Mack/Crosby.

A Win Is Win!
At the end of the day, a win is a win. Was it perfect? Not by any stretch, but by the same token, Maurice Moton summed it up best as far as fans are concerned.
Felt like I watched 2-3 games tonight. #Raiders football is an experience.

It’s not far-fetched to say that Raider Nation probably agrees with this sentiment. We will leave you with a few more takes from Raiders fans on Twitter and as always, Ramble On!
That’s one of the most miraculous raider wins I’ve ever seen

People were so confused by the Drake signing. But he showed out in a huge way today. Blocking was awesome and his receiving skills in space were something special. I think he is perfect in this Gruden offense. #RaiderNation

Crosby’s PFF grade has to be 1000
