Knee Jerk Reactions Following Raiders’ Week 4 Loss

Well, that sucked. The Las Vegas Raiders made it interesting in the second half; in the end, they fell short. Here are some knee-jerk reactions following this tough loss.

The Offensive Line Needs Help, Now…

The Raiders’ most glaring weakness has finally come back to haunt them. This line can’t block anybody one on one. The team’s brass needs to make a trade for a true right tackle and move Alex Leatherwood to guard now. We all know that’s where he will be at some point. It might as well be now because the rest of this team is ready to be a contender right now.

Fire The Entire Strength and Conditioning Staff

Part of the problem with the offensive line is injuries. They are also decimating the secondary now. Another year under Jon Gruden, another year of a litany of injuries. If you take a quick look at the team website, it shows that these are certainly Gruden’s guys. Part of the staff includes his son Deuce. Maybe Gruden thinks these positions can just be given away, but they matter. That is a big reason why the Raiders seem to fall off after strong starts to the season.

A Big Win For The Little Guys

It’s not all negative here. Two guys well under six foot had impressive performances. Hunter Renfrow continued to be his usual productive self on offense, but that’s not why we’re talking about him. He had the hit of the year so far. That play makes the loss a tiny bit easier to stomach. The other Raider that deserves mention is Amik Robertson. The five-foot-eight corner out of Louisiana Tech stepped up big after injuries to Damon Arnette and Trayvon Mullen. He blanketed a massive receiver in Mike Williams. Never forget, Paul Guenther didn’t think he could play outside.
