Following Jon Gruden’s resignation, the Las Vegas Raiders have been a freight train running through their competition.
What followed the Gruden debacle would’ve been anyone’s guess, given the circumstances. The team was floundering following dismal performances against the Los Angeles Chargers and Chicago Bears. However, the Silver and Black have breathed new life under Rich Bisaccia, a long-time NFL coach who finally got his shot at leading a squad. Sure, the circumstances were not desirable, but when opportunity knocks, you must seize it. Since then, the Raiders have gone 2-0 and sit atop the AFC West. So, naturally, it begs the question of who is most responsible for this success?
What say you, Raider Nation?
Most people will point the finger at quarterback Derek Carr, and rightfully so. The signal-caller has galvanized not just the offense but the whole team. By all accounts, Gruden was the face of this organization. However, he’s gone now, and Carr has assumed the mantle with the results speaking for themselves. By that same token, wouldn’t offensive coordinator Greg Olson deserve the same amount of credit? The veteran play-caller has now taken the reigns, and the differences are stark, especially in the passing game.
The flip side of the coin is the Raiders defense. Gus Bradley was heralded as one of the most important acquisitions in the offseason. While the defense hasn’t been perfect, the improvements from 2020 to now are evident. The unit already has 18 sacks, 61 QB hits, and 21 tackles for a loss. The improvements have been noticed by fans across the board, from Johnathan Abram to Maxx Crosby.
Well, we decided to bring the question to Raider Nation. As always, they didn’t disappoint, with a resounding majority believing Carr is responsible for the team’s success these past two weeks. In second place was Bradley with Bisaccia behind him. So, what say you? Let us know in the comments section; who’s most responsible for the team’s success these past two weeks?
Let's hear your thoughts #RaiderNation …
Given what we've seen from the offense and defense, who do you feel is most responsible for the #Raiders' success these past two weeks?
