Early in the morning 22-year old Henry Ruggs III was driving his car and collided with a Toyota Rav-4. The result of the collision was a car fire, multiple injuries, and the loss of life. Ruggs was reportedly showing signs of impairment before being taken to UMC Hospital from the scene. Then, he was later confirmed to be intoxicated at the time of the accident. He is being charged with a DUI at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
The Law in Nevada states: that if a person is convicted of DUI which causes substantial bodily harm, or death, in another person, it is a felonious offense. This is true even if the person charged has no prior criminal history whatsoever. The charge for a DUI causing substantial bodily harm or death is a category “B” felony, which is the second most severe level of Felony in Nevada law.
TMZ was the first to confirm the story, but there is more information developing and the story is ongoing. Please say a prayer for the family of the victim/s as they deal with the unnecessary and avoidable loss of life.
