Raiders Versus Giants: 3 Bold Predictions

It has been a long and confusing week for Raider Nation. Despite the difficult circumstances the team faces, there is a game to be played tomorrow. And yes, the Las Vegas Raiders plan to be ready. As the Silver and Black head into MetLife Stadium, let’s review some bold predictions for this matchup.

Maxx Crosby totals three sacks as the Raiders defensive line continues to dominate…

The Raiders have been a whole new team defensively in 2021. In Week 9, the Silver and Black take on a Giants team that has allowed 17 sacks thus far into the season. Maxx Crosby and Yannick Ngakoue have been trading dominant performances and look to make Daniel Jones run for his life on Sunday. Against a constantly reshuffled Giants O-line and Saquon Barkley out, the entire Raiders D-line should eat. Look for Crosby to total three sacks alone as he lives in the opposing backfield.

Zay Jones Totals 75 yards and a touchdown in his debut

The Raiders staff and locker room have been high on Zay Jones since Day 1. With the devastating and heartbreaking news surrounding Henry Ruggs III, Jones will step into a larger role than in previous weeks. Derek Carr has previously stated that he regards Jones as one of the hardest workers he’s ever seen. With Carr and Jones’ chemistry developed over numerous offseasons of training together, the potential is there. Jones has already shown reliability in 2021, making big-time plays, including the walk-off touchdown grab in Week 1. I can picture a quick connection between Zay and DC, resulting in an admirable debut from Jones against the Giants.

Carr continues hot hand, throws for 350+ yards, 3 TD’s

Amidst the tragic and disorienting week surrounding the Raiders, Carr’s role as a leader and a player has risen to new heights. Carr has already battled through the resignation of his coach. He now faces a much greater situation as he loses one of his top offensive weapons to such overwhelming circumstances. Carr will punch adversity in the mouth this week as he looks to keep his hot season going. Despite the wide receiver shortage, Carr will be efficient and continue to sling it. A heavy dose of Darren Waller, Kenyan Drake, and Jones will help fill the targets left open by the absence of Ruggs. Carr will prove just how valuable he is in Week 9.
