Only Nation: Talking Raiders With Christopher Gabriel

In this week’s episode of The Only Nation Podcast, we review the New York Giants game, preview the Kansas City Chiefs game and talk Las Vegas Raiders football with Christopher Gabriel, host on KMJ 580/105.9.

Trouble In The Meadowlands

The Raiders went into the Meadowlands last week and left with a 23-16 loss to the Giants. Quarterback Derek Carr had an off game, and the team could barely convert in the red zone. The Raiders were in the red zone six times and scored one touchdown out of those trips. Not only did the offense struggle, but the defense also had trouble stopping the run. Overall the defense did its job, but the offense was unable to score enough for the victory.

Kansas City Coming Up

Next up for the Raiders are the Kansas City Chiefs. We see the Raiders coming out on top and returning to their winning ways. Some keys to a Raiders victory will be the run defense stepping up and their red zone efficiency improving.

Latest News

In addition to looking at the games, we go over the latest news. The biggest news we touch on is the tragic accident involving wide receiver Henry Ruggs III, followed by his subsequent release. We also discuss the release of cornerback Damon Arnette and the signing of wide receiver DeSean Jackson.

Interview And Wrap Up

Moving on, we welcome radio host Christopher Gabriel to the show. We discuss the current state of the Raiders, the development of Carr, and how the team relates to its fans in California. Finally, we wrap up the show in the usual manner and finish with our weekly quiz and the anointing of a new hero for the week.
