Derek Carr

Raiders vs. Broncos: Bold Predictions For Week 16

It may not feel like it, but the Las Vegas Raiders are still very much alive in the playoff hunt. Standing in their way are the Denver Broncos. With that being said, here are three predictions ahead of Sunday’s matchup.

No. 1 Derek Carr throws for 350 yards and three touchdowns

Derek Carr has been in a slump since the bye week as his only game over 300 yards was against the Dallas Cowboys in an overtime victory. Carr has had the Broncos’ number, winning four out of the last five starts and going eight for four in the last twelve. I believe, with slim playoff hopes still alive, Carr has a breakout game and secures the victory.

No. 2 The Raiders’ defense goes wild and gets three turnovers and four sacks

The Raiders’ defense has struggled since the bye week, but against the Cleveland Browns they played well and gave up only 14 points. Their stand forced a punt and helped the Raiders drive into position to kick the game-winning field goal. Much like earlier in the season, the defense will damage the Broncos’ offense.

No. 3 Bryan Edwards has his career game

Edwards has had moments and made clutch plays this season to help pull out victories or secure a win. In his last two meetings with the Broncos, Edwards has made two big plays: a 26-yard back-shoulder touchdown catch and, this season, a 51-yard pass to help secure the victory. His season here has been up and down, but here with a lot on the line, Edwards should have his best game and help keep the Raiders alive in the playoff hunt.
