In this week’s episode of The Only Nation Podcast, we recap the Las Vegas Raiders’ victory over the Denver Broncos and preview the next game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Raiders’ Big Win
“Outstanding. Phenomenal. Awesome. Relentless.”
These are four words that interim head coach Rich Bisaccia used to describe the Raiders’ defensive performance against the Broncos this past Sunday. The Silver and Black’s defense held the Broncos to 13 points in a 17-13 victory against their AFC West rivals. The Broncos managed a mere 18 yards rushing in the game and converted only one out of 10 third-down attempts.
The Silver and Black were led by linebacker Denzel Perryman and cornerback Desmond Trufant on defense. Running back Josh Jacobs led the Raiders on offense. Jacobs had his first 100-yard rushing performance of the season. He ended the game with 129 total yards on the ground. In addition, wide receiver Hunter Renfrow caught his 92nd reception of the year, placing him in the company of Jerry Rice and Tim Brown as the only Raider receivers to have at least 91 receptions in a single season.
COVID Impacts Raiders
Unfortunately, the Raiders received bad news on the injury front on Monday. Six players were added to the reserve/COVID-19 list. These players included cornerback Casey Hayward, linebackers Cory Littleton, Patrick Onwuasor, Denzel Perryman, and KJ Wright, and defensive tackle Darius Philon. Additionally, tight end Darren Waller was added to the list on Wednesday as well. The hope is that some of the players can return in time to face the Colts.
Looking Towards the Colts
While the rosters for both the Colts and the Raiders remain in flux for the upcoming game, both hosts see the Colts pulling out the victory. However, T3 makes a wager, hoping to be wrong. If the Raiders come out on top, a charity will be the winner. Needless to say, both hosts are really hoping to be wrong.
