The Las Vegas Raiders were one of the first teams that required the COVID-19 vaccine last season, which made waves with fans and season-ticket holders. To attend a game, a fan needed to be vaccinated and then show proof via a phone application (Clear App) at Allegiant Stadium to gain entry. Well, things have changed now.
After not allowing fans in the stands the previous year (2020), save for some exceptions with a few stadiums allowing a small number of fans to attend, the league loosened up restrictions. The NFL granted those who were vaccinated access to games. Needless to say, this caused a widespread reaction among several fans. Many instead decided they wouldn’t support the NFL or their respective teams. Social media was ablaze during this time as a pandemic made its way into sports. Therefore, an entire league had to adjust to how it operated.
Are things going back to normal for the Raiders?
COVID opinions aside, the Raiders are going along with Nevada governor Steve Sisolak’s decision to end his state’s mask mandate. Surely, this will make many fans happy as a sense of normalcy returns to Allegiant Stadium.
Per Allegiant Stadium, the latest update states the following:
The Las Vegas Raiders will no longer require proof of COVID-19 vaccination or masks for home games at Allegiant Stadium.
Throughout the pandemic, we have followed the advice and guidelines of federal and state medical professionals to create a safe environment for our staff, players and fans. Based on the latest information, we are confident that we can provide that safe environment without the extra precautions of vaccinations and masks. We are looking forward to welcoming all our fans back to Allegiant Stadium this season
It should be noted that Allegiant makes it clear that they are following the CDC guidelines. So, as we have all gotten accustomed to during this pandemic, things can change.
